'Trojan' two-stroke engine, 1927.

Sectioned four cylinder valveless two-stroke engine used on the Trojan motor car, containing features patented by L H Hounsfield between 1913 and 1922. An exceptionally high torque is obtained at low speeds, which greatly facilitates driving in traffic and hill climbing. The engine has four horizontal cylinders which are 2 1/2 inches in diameter, and has a capacity of 1488 cc which is capable of developing 12.3 hp at 900 rpm.
