Ermanox camera with Ernostar f1.8 lens, German, 1925.

Photo of Ermanox camera with Ernostar f1.8 lens, German, 1925.

Camera and lens made by Ernemann. This camera is best remembered for it's lenses, notably the one shown here, which would open up to F1.8. This made available light photography a reality where previously flash had been required by older, larger cameras. However, the release of the first 35mm Leica signalled the end for the Ermanox.
