First domestic video recorder, 1963.

Photograph shows Michael Turner, Norman Rutherford and their wives grouped round their (simulated) television with a video recorder built in the top. The 'Westgrove' recorder was later sold in kit form, although with little success, and was based on an American design called 'telcan' (television in a can).
