One of a series of 27 paintings of locomotives of the period 1830-1870 by H M Whitcombe for his book 'After Rocket: The Forgotten Years 1830-1870'. It shows the 'Jenny Lind' a steam locomotive designed by David Joy and built by the E B Wilson Railway Foundry at Leeds for the London Brighton & South Coast Railway (LB&SCR).
