The Milan Aviation Meeting, Italy, 1910.

Poster advertising the 'Milano Circuito Aereo Internazionale' held between 24 September and 3 October 1910. 1909 and 1910 saw the first aviation meetings which were staged at various cities around Europe. The Milan meeting of 1910 was notable for witnessing the first recorded mid-air collision between two aircraft, the Farman of Captain Bertram Dickson and the Antoinette flown by a French pilot by the name of Thomas. Fortunately both pilots survived the accident, although Dickson was badly injured and never flew again. First prizes at the meeting were won by Cattaneo in a Bleriot, Legagneux also in a Bleriot, Bielovucic in a Voisin and Fischer in a Farman.
