This was the first bicycle to be fitted with a front and rear wheel independent rubber suspension system. Advantages claimed for the small-wheeled Moulton over the traditional design of bicycle include ease of control, low centre of gravity, improved stability and greater comfort. The equipment includes a Sturmey-Archer three-speed gear with twist-grip control, a front wheel caliper brake and a rear hub brake. The wheels are 16 inches in diameter and fitted with Dunlop high-pressure tyres.
