'Mad Dog II' solar powered car, 1998.

A solar powered car built by a staff and student team at South Bank University in London. Mad Dog II is the second solar powered car developed at South Bank University, and it takes its name from the famous Noel Coward song, 'Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the mid-day sun'. Solar powered cars are the only true zero emission vehicles in existence, and it is believed that research into solar powered racing cars will eventually lead to efficient electric vehicles.
